World Cleanup Day 2019

On 21st September 2019 World Clean up Day is celebrated. The WCD is the greatest civil civilization in history to make people aware of the environmental disaster regarding refuse which threatens the lives of people and other forms of life on the planet. A worldwide event which unites millions of people in more than 160 countries who join together to clean the planet, creating a global calling to achieve a rubbish free planet.

The aim of WCD is not only to clean cities, parks, beaches, forests, etc, but also to generate the greatest platform of active and positive collaboration in the world in order to act in a simultaneously local and global way to curb the environmental crisis and climatic change.

There are 5 main aims in this project:

Cooperation: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Positivity:Concentrate on a positive change and find solutions for “rubbish blindness”

Leadership: Changes happen in people and through people. We need to créate a new generation of leaders who aim to make a rubbish free world by working locally and cooperating on a world wide level.

Technology: The use of mapping and the application TrashOut to motivate volunteers.

Fun: Mobilize millions of people all over the world to clean their communities and have fun while they are doing it.

We invite all the altilloschool families to participate in this activity where we want to promote a healthy lifestyle, family activities,  create awareness about looking after the environment, motivate our pupils to take part and participate in the changes and when the day comes to an end they feel the satisfaction of having taken part in an event when everyone can learn values.

Get organized with your classmates, family and teachers, grab your rubbish bag and….. lets go out to help and map!
